Um jumentinho voltando para sua casa todo contente, fala para sua mãe:- Fui a uma cidade e quando lá cheguei fui aplaudido, a multidão gritava alegre, estendia seus mantos pelo chão... Todos estavam contentes com minha presença. Sua mãe questionou se ele estava só e o burrinho disse: -Não, estava levando um homem com o nome de Jesus.
Então sua mãe falou:
-Filho, volte a essa cidade, mas agora sozinho.
Então o burrinho respondeu:
- Quando eu tiver uma oportunidade, voltarei lá...
Quando retornou a essa cidade sozinho, todos que passavam por ele fizeram o inverso, maltratavam, xingavam e até mesmo batiam nele.
Voltando para sua casa, disse para sua mãe:
- Estou triste, pois nada aconteceu comigo. Nem palmas, nem mantos, nem honra... Só apanhei, fui xingado e maltratado. Eles não me reconheceram, mamãe...
Indignado o burrinho disse a sua mãe:
- Porque isso aconteceu comigo?
Sua mãe respondeu:
- Meu filho querido, você sem JESUS é só um jumento ...
